I called it "Modellrechnung" as I don't know, what really happens. In fact, there must be a standby power consumption. Maybe, you're unable to measure it due to unknown reasons. But how much and for what cause? If you compare with your mobile phone, you'll recognize a higher consumption, if the connections are bad. Your phone needs higher transmission power to hold the connection with the antenna.

If your GPS has limited sky view, this will result in poor position determination. With other words: Calculated position changes without moving the device. But as the position is used as a anti theft mechanism, there must be a error handling for such cases. Whatever it is, it will not run without energy consumption.
