Drive Error message on OMNI at ST2
#1
Hello everyone, Apologies to type in English ...
I have ST2 (manufactured in 2015)
The bike hasn’t been used for more than a year.
- I have recharging a battery via connecting directly a charger to a battery

- I have put a charged battery in a bike, locked the battery door and turn on OMNI. the bike on I get an error:

- The "Error/Drive/OK" message has appeared on a screen. I click OK and get a new error:

- "Battery/Error/Help" on a screen. I click on "help" and get instructions how to fix an error on a screen.

- I follow instructions, but it brings me back to "Battery/Error/Help" screen.

My guess is it is not an issue with a battery. I have 2 batteries and both of them produce identical issues when they are installed on a bike. When battery is connected to a charger directly (not through a socket on a bike) I get green light. It is also unlikely that both batteries are malfunctioning.

I am trying to figure out how to troubleshoot and maybe fix this problem. Stromer has left USA and Canada markets in 2024. Repairs become a challenging task.

Many thanks for your suggestions.
All the best.

The Errors should have a Number, e.g. 0x210002. Which Error Numbers do you have?

Information
Thank you for the follow up. Maybe I am missing something, but I do not see a number. Maybe X is the error code? I have uploaded a screenshot of the error message. Thanks again.

The first thing I would check is the battery base in the battery compartment. The Rosenbeger connection is magnetic and attracts the smallest metal parts.

Clean it with compressed air or a lint-free cloth. Do not use any contact sprays or greases or WD40 universal.

Secondly, check the motor connector in the left-hand chain stay for tightness or moisture.

The phase cables of the controller could also be the problem. They were not sealed on older models e.g. ST2.

The distribution board in the battery compartment also sometimes causes problems (corrosion)
