I´d go on with the Tip from Jan and search for an experienced electrician who can fix and isolate the cable again properly. Can´t be to big of a deal if only the Isolation is damaged.
AFAIK it´s also an insurance technical thing for Stromer. I had the same with two batteries. They got killed from recuperation during warranty time. Most likely only the BMS was damaged but they don´t repair the batteries. Instead they send them back to the manufacturer. If they´d repair, they are kind of the new manufacturer what´s makes them liable for theoretical accidents.
But then, i´m no lawyer...
Good luck to you! Feel free to post how you solved your problem.

Thanks Hannes,
I hadn’t really considered the insurance and liability aspect, and it could well be the reason. Still seems an expensive way to proceed from the customer point of view. I can’t imagine a similar situation in a car repair requiring quite as extensive a repair for such seemingly minor damage.
I don’t know how I would set about looking for an electrician but it’s an avenue worth exploring before forking out CHF 2200.00 (£1800)!
Best wishes,
Yves
